A SMILE is the vaccine for sadness

DAY TWELVE: Tuesday 12th  2021:

SMILE OF THE DAY: Sorry to interrupt your scrolling but I thought you should know that you are amazing and deserve to be HAPPY.

I am happy, are you happy ? I had a vaccination yesterday, NO not for covid-19 aka china virus. A SMILE IS THE VACCINATION FOR SADNESS. Actually I was not feeling sad but FOUR different people went out of their way to make sure I was well and not having any difficulties. THANK YOU AND BLESS YOU EVERYONE.

Thank You Secretary of State, at your briefing yesterday you made my jaw drop and then as it returned to its former position it put the widest possible Smile on my face.

At the beginning of the year, we can use that expression now we are twelve days into 2021, I contacted the head office of Morrissons Supermarkets to say I was uncomfortable with the way people were not following guidelines within my local store. I emphasises it was not the supermarket’s fault but it was making shopping unsafe and I gave some specific examples. Visiting the store on Monday I found it had taken measures to address the issues I had raised. Then yesterday afternoon within his briefing Matt Hancock praised Morrissons for what it had done. OMG - OMG had I done that ? Morrissons The Smiling Supermarket. Later today I will e-mail Morrissons and address the e-mail as MORRISSONS THE SMILING SUPERMARKET.

Another e-mail, one I received yesterday from the police thanking us all for the Smile cards and Quiz For Cops sent to them all last week.

I suggested yesterday that before we all sleep we should take a few moments at the end of the day think of those who are contained in the daily figures, those figures include those who have lost their lives and their families, the doctors and nurses who cared for them. PLEASE do this tonight and every night. Yesterday forty-six, one hundred and sixty-nine more people caught the virus. Yesterday five hundred and ninety-two died. I do not know who you all are but I love you and tonight I will end my day spending time thinking of you.

ON THIS DAY in history, history since 1950 the year in which I was born.

12th January 1962 Operation Chopper, the first American combat mission in the Vietnam War took place. What a bad day that was.

12th January 1966 US President Lyndon B Johnson stated the United States should stay in South Vietnam until communist aggress there ended. What about American aggression ?

12th January 1970 Biafra Capitulates ending the Nigerian Civil War. I remember that date, the terrible lives of ordinary people in Biafra was so dire.

12th January 2004 T he world’s largest ocean liner, RMS Queen Mary 2 made its made its maiden voyage. Right now the boat is anchored off the Devon coast as it can not dock in any  port.

12th January 1957 English writer Nevil Shute who was born in 1899 died.

12th January 1976 Novelist Agatha Christie born in 1890 died.

12th January – not a good day for writers !  I trust I will make it through the day.

Yesterday I penned another three thousand, one hundred and thirty-five words bringing my challenge total to one hundred and sixty-five thousand, one hundred and seven words. Book sales now stand at eighty. THANK YOU.

My book POETRY FOR TEENAGERS is currently under review with Amazon. Today I will probably finish writing JUKEBOX JURY.

Within my poetry collection is Spike Milligan’s SMILE poem. On Spike’s grave are the worlds: I TOLD YOU I WAS ILL. I am going to be cremated so I will not have a grave stone but I would like to be remembered as the man who taught the world to spell SMILE with a capital S. Will you help me ?

Yesterday I started printing SMILE CARDS for next week’s distribution. Week beginning Monday 18th January Great Ormond Street Hospital will be our featured hospital sending Smile Cards and our NHS Quiz. For the Dreamsai food boxes the Smile Card will be accompanied by Animal Crackers Quiz and two Smilie stickers. Smile Cards and a selection of our quiz sheets will be ending their way to Flowers care Home for residents and staff. A special quiz sheet for teachers will be going to Oakgrove School, more Smile Cards will also be sent but many staff there already have their copies.

SMILES for a variety of people who are having a tough time. A SMILE IS THE VACCINATION FOR SADNESS.  Please I beg of you, go out and vaccinate as many of people today as you can. You do not need to physically go out, phone – internet – letter – social media – go out and use our SMILE OF THE DAY to vaccinate hundreds of people.

SMILE OF THE DAY: Sorry to interrupt your scrolling but I thought you should know that you are amazing and deserve to be HAPPY.

Speak again tomorrow
