Milton Keynes Cowboy Council

The very earliest foundation plan of Milton Keynes Development Corporation was to set a ley-line across the area where the ancient Saxons live. This ley-line would be carefully aligned so the midsummer dawn rose down its length. MIDSUMMER BOULEVARD. Every single road within the new city’s grid system was then built around this ley-line.

Two parallel ley-line were set within the land once occupied by the Saxons and were given names from Saxon Britain: AVEBURY BOULEVARD from the Avebury Stones and SECKLOW BOULEVARD from Secklow Hill.

 

So the entire New City of Milton Keynes as built about these ley line the most important of

which is MIDSUMMER BOULEVARD. This ley-line has been destroyed by Milton Keynes Cowboy Council which allowed a hideous and totally unnecessary shopping centre – The Intu, to be built across, cutting and destroying the ley-line.

 

I had one Milton Keynes Councillor tell me that he had head once that The Point was built on a ley-line but there was no evidence of such. DOH ! And this person thinks he is a fit an proper person to be a member of the council !

 

Another council member said to me that the Development Corporation should have built the city centre where the railway station is. INSERT BRAIN HERE !  It was deliberately located where it is so it occupied the land of the Ancient Saxon Court !

 

If Milton Keynes does achieve city status as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee it will be able to boast the most hideous city centre skyline in the entire world. What happened to the foundation stone of Milton Keynes Development Corporation – NO BUILDING SHALL BE TALLER THAN THE SURROUNDING TREES ? It was revised to NO BUILDING SHALL BE TALLER THAN THE EGO OF MILTON KEYNES COWBOY COUNCIL.

 

I am on record saying no person should be allowed to stand for election to Milton Keynes

Council until they have read Sir Frank Markham’s book The History of Milton Keynes and District. In the very early days of Milton Keynes I attended two lectures by Sir Frank as he talked about the HERITAGE of the designated area.

 

I did not know Sir Frank but I did know his wife, Lady Markham. When I served as the student governor on the board of Milton Keynes Teacher Training College we used to sit together at meetings. When I wrote my book NOT THE CONCRETE COWS she gave me permission to use some of her late husband’s material.

 

As we hope Milton Keynes will be awarded city status I would like to put forward that every member of Milton Keynes Council should read my book MILTON DREAMS THE CITY THAT NEVER WAS. Within it I try to spark a dream that one day we will become a city. Problem is: How many members of Milton Keynes Council can actually read ? And among those who claim they can read how many can understand what they actually do read ! ? !
