SMILE OF THE DAY: Some of us have been through things so traumatic that
the human mind isn’t built to handle but we fight and persevere every single day
and night. If that’s not strength I don’t know what is. You are a survivor.
I don’t do politics.
The conservative party does not understand there are real people at the end of
their policies. The labour party fully understands but thinks people are just
there to play political games with. The liberal democratic party has a history
of failing to believe in democracy.
Look at what has been
happening over the past year and am I right or am I right ? Boris Johnson would not recognise leadership
if it bit him in the bum. People are certainly not at the centre of his too
little too late government.
Matt Handcock Secretary
of State for Health. I wrote to my constituency MP weeks ago asking if this man
ever slept. As with the mindset of politicians he FAILED to reply.
Last night Matt
Handcock gave us a Downing Street briefing. The time before when he was in
charge I could see genuine sadness in his face and particularly his eyes as he
spoke about the death figures. When others give out the figures they cliché their
way through them heartlessly reading from a script. Yesterday there was
excitement oozing from Matt Handcock as he talked through the vaccination roll
out which without question is a FANTASTIC success.
Does our Secretary of
State for Health sleep ? I doubt he does, he is too busy caring for those of us,
the entire nation, in his care. THANK YOU MATT.
Each day I send our SIMILE of the day to the media but I
never get any response, I guess SMILING is not within the media’s agenda. On
the original SMILE card today there is a typo. Wonder if the FAILING media will
spot that.
I spoke yesterday about
these words being a cyber time capsule then went on to say I was going to also
have a physical time capsule to be opened on 1st January 2121. I
have found the perfect box for this, so far I have January’s file and doings
list in there, I have put in my NHS vaccination letter and a mask.
Monday, that was
yesterday and Monday means it is the day I take the weekly SMILE enveloped to
the Dreamsai box in Morrisson’s Supermarket – Westcroft. From there they are
put into the food boxes Dreamsai distributes the following week-end. Last week
I complained bitterly on my diary page about an OLD BIDDIE who was wearing her mask
with the nose poking out. I watched her picking up packets of cheese on the
deli counter, sniffing them then putting them back. How she expected to smell
through sealed packaging I do not know. However, what she was doing put germs
on the products for others to buy. Yesterday the same OLD BIDDING – let me stop
being so polite – the same STUPID OLD BAG was there and again her evil nose was
poking out the top of t he mask. Just because she is old does not exempt her
from the rules. If this had been a young man the media would have delighted to
feature it !
Also yesterday I posted
SMILE cards and quiz sheets to our hospital of the week Adeenbrooks in
Cambridge and to Flowers Care Home. Contents were a bit restricted as my
printer had broken down but yesterday FANTASTIC Amazon delivered a replacement.

1969: Boris Karloff, born 1887, died. Is he related to our prime minister ? I
hope not.

1996: Gene Kelly, born 1912, died.
That brings me to the
ROLL OF HONOUR as I record the numbers of deaths and cases from yesterday. I
want to do this with love and ask you all to do as I do and spend a moment as
you lay your head down to sleep to think of the real people behind these
numbers, their sadness. Please think of them and send your love.
Nationally 21,088 new
cases and a further 587 deaths. The figures are falling but the tragedy and
sadness are not. Locally, where I live there were another 99 new cases and
another two deaths.
Yesterday I wrote 3,480
words bringing my 2021 total to 267,946.
I explained yesterday
how I was having a bit of a writer’s block with my book THE SECRET DIARY OF AN
OLD MAN AGED THIRTEEN AND THREE QUARTERS. Within this as I lay my head on my
time travel pillow at night I am taken as a thirteen and three quarters kid to
different times and places where I remain that teenager. I had gone back to
1899 where I was with my grandfather who was nine years old. The grandfather I
never knew, he died when my own father was a small boy. It just was not
working, yesterday I made a plan to get round the block. Sleeping last night I had
a dream in which my grandfather, the grandfather I never knew, told me what to
write !
My book BEHIND THE
NOOSE is coming to the end of the chapter featuring serial killer Reginald
Christie. I am really into writing this book. As I conclude it today I will tell
how, as a teenager, I knew the judge who sentenced Christie to death.
I wrote a quiz
yesterday for WHO NEEDS A PUB TO HAVE A QUIZ. I really need to put more time
into this book, I am planning to publish it in April. I’ll share that quiz at
the end of today’s page.
I was struggling to
sort out the text for BY THE PRICKING OF MY THUMBS which after a lot of hard
work AMAZON found the issue. Microsoft – DAMN MICROSOFT – had imported a flaw
which was not easily visible. I am trying so hard to remove it and resubmit the
text. Fingers crossed today.
I can not wait to get
into writing my proposed book THE DEVIL USES SOCIAL MEDIA. This is not a
satanic plot but a spy thriller. Watch out Microsoft you are the double agent !
