DAY TEN:

Sunday 10th   January 2021:

Do not be afraid to start over again. This time you’re not starting from scratch, you’re starting from experience.

SMILE OF THE DAY.

Perhaps I need to take advice myself from that.  Yesterday THIRTY people read the smile on social media, FIVE liked it but NOBODY shared it even though I begged for that to happen.

Starting tomorrow I will be sending Smile Of The Day out to the media. I just know that will be a waste of time, the media has its own agenda which seldom focusses on real people but hey ho I’ll give it a go.

That’s a poem !  In my book Poetry For Teenagers Of All Ages I say that I am no good at writing poems. Does that prove what I say or does it show I am wrong ?

HE HE – IT’S ONLY ME…..

35,415 words in that book. I have now set the finished text aside; I’ll pick it up again either this afternoon or first thing tomorrow, edit it and publish it.

1,305 words written yesterday for Jukebox Jury. 13,895 in total so far, I am on record number fifty-two out of one hundred so just over half way. I could just sit down and work, work, work until it is finished but there is something I have been putting off for days which I cannot put off any longer. If I am going to what out Smile Of The Day to the media I need to tidy up the website.

HEY, if Donald Trump has been banned from social media could I please have all of his followers ?  If I could get them all to use Smile Of The Day what a difference to the world that would make.

So what happened On This Day in years gone by ?

10th January 1954 BOAC Flight 781, de Haviland Comet explodes and falls into the sea killing thirty-five people. I was only three years old at the time and can not claim to remember this event but reports and documentaries over the years make this something I am very aware of.

10th January 1962 NASA announces plans to build the launch vehicle which will be known as Saturn V within the Apollo Moon programme. The space programme was central to my teenage years, what a shame space exploration is no longer happening.

10th January 1971 Coco Chanel, the fashion designer born in 1883 died. Don’t remember this and have never used Chanel, well I wouldn’t would I, but I know the name.

10th January 2016 David Bowie, born in 1947 died. That I remember.

Change the subject. Yesterday HM Queen Elizabeth II age 94 and The Duke of Edinburgh age 99 both had their vaccination. Yes, I am a royalist and proud to be so. Look at democracy with an elected head of state !

Four hundred and eighty-nine words so far written in today’s diary page. I’d quite like to sit here and write the full one million within my 2021 challenge so I can avoid the task waiting for me to tidy up the website.

I don’t think I will manage the million but I will rattle on for a bit more.

I often speak about by 4am moment. Four in the morning and I am starting to move from deep sleep towards waking up, ideas burst into my head. At 2,416 words I have set aside BY THE PRICKING OF MY THUMBS as in those opening words I have not made the introduction dark and sinister as it needs to be. This morning an idea twisted the plot – wow !  I am now eager to get back to writing. I need to finish JUKEBOX JURY then give my attention to this crime story.

That means I need to get on with the website !

Will I do it ? You’ll find out tomorrow. Speak again then.

  DAY SIX:   Wednesday 6 th January 2021: On this scale how are you feeling right now about China Virus ? I’M OK WITH IT ALL – SCARED - FRIGHTENED – TERRIFIED – END OF THE WORLD IS COMING I am somewhere between scared and frightened. Did you see last night’s briefing ? Did you see how Prime Minister Boris Johnson waffled and burbled his way through the questions ? No need for a scale, simply do you trust the government to take us successfully through this china virus pandemic ?   The answer I am sure is a universal NO !
