Have you ever met a modern-day slave ? I have.
It was about a year ago. As a teenager he had been trafficked from
Romania to England. Back then a Romanian did not need to be trafficked as we
were all part of the European Union. However, this teenager had been kidnapped
and brought to England to work in a car wash. He was a slave ! After three years he escaped and became a
homeless rough-sleeper. In the eyes of the sad pen-pushing establishment he did
not exist, he had no ID and was a non-person.
He said to me: I do not want charity, I
simply want to be able to work and build a life for myself. This young man was so intelligent and
articulate, he spoke perfect English, he could have brought so much to society
if only he was allowed.
When the Berlin Wall came down I drove a
humanitarian aid truck to Romania and so knew much if the country’s history.
That was well before this super guy was born but he spoke about his country’s
history and past culture. What a guy and yet he had been a slave in a car wash.
A former slave who no sad pathetic office could help because he was a
non-person and no tick could be found to put in the appropriate box.

SMILE OF THE DAY: If you have
been brutally broken, but still have the courage to be gentle to others then
you deserve a love deeper than the ocean itself.
5.35am and I have been working at my laptop
for more than an hour. My 4am moment today was so powerful I had to get out of
bed and start working. People complain that with lockdown they have nothing to
do. Not so for me, there are just not enough hours in the day.
My head was bursting with useless information,
useless by today’s standards but when I was a kid we called it General
Knowledge. I have already written a quiz sheet for our WHO NEEDS A PUB TO HAVE
A QUIZ BOOK. I am calling this page A MIND FULL OF USELESS INFORMATION. Just a
couple of questions, well three anyway, see if you can answer them ?

I have been dabbling with writing an almanac.
Within my 4am moment today I am thinking this would work best on a smart phone.
I have to run it all through my brain a bit more but am thinking to call it OLD
MAX’S ALMANAC – A HANDBOOK FOR LIFE.
Yesterday I wrote a total of 7,210 words,
many of which were within my rewriting of the poetry anthology to pass Amazon’s
criteria for copyright. I will present it later today and cross my fingers.
That was originally intended to be an e-book read on a smart phone but at
47,085 words it is far too long and will have to be in paperback.

Tech Giants – GEEKS the like of Microsoft, Facebook
and Google are slave masters who seek to control our every fibre of being. I
have on my list of titles which I may include in my 2021 writing challenge THE
DEVIL USES SOCIAL MEDIA, originally I wanted to call it THE DEVIL USES
FACEBOOK. Well he does, doesn’t he ?
However, I am sure that Mr Z and his fellow geeks would find a way to attack me
if I did.
I am being targeted by Google Ads for a
specific product. NO WAY has Google obtained information legitimately to point
this product to me. There are only two possibilities. I filled in an on-line
medical form which indicated a need. NO WAY did the NHS divulge the information
BUT the form was filled in using Google Chrome. I followed up with an e-mail
using G Mail ! Circumstantial evidence but overwhelming circumstantial evidence
!

Fresh orange juice – WITH bits, fresh fruit salad – hot buttered toast,
buttered with olive oil spread. Do people use butter today ?

Watching the Downing Street Briefing last
night I was forced to wonder if the Home Secretary is planning to enter Strictly
Cone Dancing ! When it comes to skipping
round questions she is so good !
Wondering how Boris Johnson’s government will
go down in history I am thinking it will be remembered as THE TOO LITTLE TOO LATE
GOVERNMENT. There is evidence that the present lock down is not working. That
is because it is only a semi-lockdown. With rates far higher and the danger so
more severe than at the time of the first lockdown WHY for goodness sake are
things so weak ?
37,892 more cases yesterday and another 1,290
deaths. I try so hard to send my love to those who have lost a loved one, to
those who cared in hospital for someone who died but these numbers are so big it
is hard to comprehend them. Unlike our home secretary I refuse to skip round
them.
Another number shall we, how many people read
Dave’s Diary yesterday ? FOUR. When I put these words on Google Blogger the
site is a shadow of its former self. I am thinking that this particular tech
giant is doing what it is doing deliberately. Compared to its former self
Google Blogger is rubbish. Could it be that Google is not able to any money
from it ? Not able to lift any data for advertising ? How long before Google
takes it off line altogether ?
Watch this space. And watch a mirror if you
